Hair follice drug testing???

quite smoking marijuana about 30 days ago and i have to get a urine test and a hair test (for a job) are they going to test for thc in both hair and urine ...or are they just looking for the hard drugs in the hair sample..ive never done n e hard stuff just a causual smoker back in the day...i dont plan on doing it again...just a phase i went through....shoud i even worry about it the test isent for atleast another month so thats 60 days w/o smoking.. whats your opinion??? no lectures pleze...i kno i made mistakes in my life and im working on getting back on track.....thanks for your input...

Your hair records drugs like a timeline. Marijuana stays in your system for about 10 days; you will be fine on the wee test, but I would come clean to your employer about casual pot; most don't really care. Thats how you use semicolons, by the way.

they're probably going to test your hair for THC too, because it stays in your follicles for around 7 years i think. they probably test both just in case someone tries to dupe the test by drinking that stuff that blocks it in your urine.

You will test clean on the urine test, but not with the hair test. The hair test will show 90 days back and will test positive for THC. The only hope you have is to be almost honest and tell them you smoked a few hits with some friends 3 months ago and haven't messed with it since nor do you intend to do so. It was a peer pressure situation and you don't hang with them anymore. The test won't show how much or when, just that you did. After 3 months you would test clean on the hair test. Is there any way to put it off till then? Good luck man!

Your hair will maintain the drug in it for a long while...

Keep clean. Avoid ALL possibilities of drug use. I would cut your hair if it is long so that if there was anything in the follicle, it would be cut out. (I know it don't always work, but it is worth the shot for a second chance.)

Avoid any and all friends that got you in this bad habit. They can not get you out of it is they are still "partying like it's 1999" you get the point.

Your correct on it being a bad life choice, but congrats on changing that.. It takes more courage to make the change then to continue on.

actually, thc is stored in fat cells, so the heavier you are, the longer it stays in your system. general rule is that it stays in your system for 30 days. here's a link to wiki page on different types of drug testing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drug_test gives you a timeline of how long it can be found in the hair and urine. i do agree that employers are usually looking for heroin, meth, cocaine, that kind of thing, and probably won't worry with a little thc in the hair. and, yes, they will be able to tell how much you used it. it really depends on the type of job you are going for (ie: is it a high-security type job, like government based?). personally, i refuse to apply for jobs that drug test, based on principle, even though i ended that phase of my life a few years ago. only prescription drugs for me now, thanks ;)

Hi...no lectures, just info....depending on the manufacturer of the testing kit used, it can detect numerous drugs including marijuana, cocaine, opiates, amphetamines, methamphetamines, ecstasy and PCP which are retained in the cortex of the hair shaft. Theses test can pick up substances up to 90 days so sorry, you may have a positive result.

Don't try using a clensing shampoo - as these just don't work because they only clean the outside layer so dn't waste your money.

Best advice I can give is to be honest. If asked to disclose if you have used drugs prior, state yes but it was a one-off experimental thing and you have not used since. They will appreciate your honesty.

there is nothing wrong with smoking pot... dont knock it. well you said tehy are goin to take a urine and hair follicle test.... and the test that they'll use for the follicle will mos def show the thc... the urine test you can take care of. go to a head shop and most of them have a fake urine kit. before you go to the clinic ask one of your clean fwends to piss in the container that comes in the kit. there is a heat pack that keeps the urine at body temp. for about thirty minutes.... i wouldn't worry about the follicle test though. that is really expensive and most employers wont pay for it so you'll just do the urine sample test. Okay, Well if you quit smoking 30 days ago then you should not have a problem at all with the urine test...Just drink a lot of water, cranberry juice and stay away from second hand smoke and people who do smoke it. So don't even worry about about that especially if it's not for another month...On the other hand, hair follicle tests go back AT LEAST 3 months, sometimes even longer. That test will show EVERYTHING you have done in that time (including marijuana, prescription drugs) depending on what they test it for. Generally, they just test it for marijuana, cocaine and stuff like Vicodin and Valium which people often abuse. Even if you haven't smoked for 60 days before it, you probably won't pass it...BUT at almost any head shop you can get this shampoo called super cleanse for about $50 that worked for me...(I was a BIG TIME smoker and I passed 2 hair follicle tests with it) It only works for 8 hours after you use it so make sure you're careful...If you want to know more info. about it just let me know.
