I just got drug tested today ... The consent form said they are taking a half an inch to be tested. I haven't smoked pot since Late September '07 - I'm thinking I'll be fine, I have gotten five haircuts since then. I was curious to see what you guys had to say.
Opinion on drug hair testing?
They can pretty much tel if you've smoked or done other drugs at any point in your life. But I think they will most likey only be concerned if you did it in the past 30 days or during a probation period. Other than that its not the length of your hair that counts, its the folical. Specific proteins are formed and stored there each time you smoke. Their decay indicates how old they are. Up to a point they can't say last Tuesday at 7 pm you got, but they can still tell if any drugs were in your system.
Cutting your hair doesn't do anything. They could even take the hair sample from your pubs or somewhere else. But if its been over a year like you said, then it really doesn't matter and you shouldn't worry about it at all, even if you were on probation unless you still are, nobody is going to come after you. (unless you're running for president or something)

Well your body stores THC in the hair follicles. So depending on the amount of hair that was taken, it閳ユ獨 possible that marijuana could be detected up to three years after the last time that you smoke. :/
