my friend doesnt smoke very much once every like 6 months or so, she smoked yesterday, not very much and tomorrow morning she has to take a hair strand drug test. She really needs this job and I think im more worried than she is, do you have any ideas or think she will pass. thanx.

Your hair holds onto everything for as long as you let it grow out. If you shaved your head today and let it grow out for six months, the tips would show what you did around the time you shaved your head. At least this is my understanding.

Since she just smoked, it's possible it might not be there, but the hair sample test is notoriously accurate.

Out of all illegal drugs marijuana stays in the system the longest (approx. 1 month, compared to 24-48 hours in cocaine use). I would think it might show. Maybe she could say it was from passive smoking if it does show since you say she doesn't use much. She might want to think about quitting, if they are testing for a job she hasn't got yet, the employer is likey to do random tests once a position is offered.

She is probably safe...probably. Yesterday's THC will not be in her hair. Depending on the Length of her hair, if it has been dyed or bleached, and how much she smoked 6 months ago it may still be enough to flag a hair strand test. Unless she is going into the military or some super sensitive job, even if it did show up, I don't thing that an employer would hold it against her. They may test her monthly or so once employed though.
